Steps at a glance

  1. 1. Crease both diagonals

Colored side up as a diamond. Fold and unfold both diagonals.

  2. 2. Turn over; crease in half both ways

Turn over (white up). Fold in half edge to edge both ways and unfold.

  3. 3. Fold the top and bottom corners to the center

Fold the top and bottom corners to the center point.

  4. 4. Collapse into the boat

Fold the bottom half up in front while pushing the left and right corners in along the creases and up between the layers. They rise from inside the boat as two white sails above a colored hull.

  5. 5. Crease the left sail

Fold the left sail down in front along the top edge of the hull, then stand it up again to leave a crease.

  6. 6. Tuck the left sail in to shorten it

Open the two layers of the sail and push it down inside the boat along the crease (inside reverse fold). Then, a little below the top edge of the hull, push its tip back up. The folded part hides inside and the left sail is shorter.

  7. 7. Turn over; fold up the hull point

Turn over and fold the bottom point of the hull up to make a flat bottom.

  8. 8. Turn over — done

Turn back over and your sailboat is ready!
